In 2007, Sr. Helen Prejean - the woman behind 'Dead Man Walking - addressed a national conference and met 10,000 people from all over the country. Moved by the reception of the people Sr. Helen promised to return.
Below is a flavour of the hundreds of comments received after the last conference in 2007. |

Thank you so much for a wonderful
weekend, it surpassed all our expectations! You certainly worked very hard to
make it a great success, and it worked! Many people I have spoken to since then
have said "it has changed my life".
Many thanks for a
truly memorable week-end, well worth the journey. The organisation, the
attention to detail, the professional way the event was presented were worthy of
national recognition.

Today I was part of the privileged audience who got to
see Sister Helen speak at the City Hall. It was
amazing!
What a marvellous weekend !!!!!!!! Thank you to everyone
involved..... everyone is buzzing with the whole experience. WELL
DONE!!!!
It was immense and I feel hugely privileged
to have been able to be there.
I'm tremendously excited that she is to return next year
and will look out for ticket availability.

I got loads out of the experience and really enjoyed it
thank you!!!
Can I also say a huge thank you because my
mum and grandma came out on Saturday night buzzing they talked all the way home
and all night about what they had heard. This is so amazing because they both
went in, not being so open or happy about giving up their Saturday, but I wish
you could have seen them after, it was an amazing turn around thank you so much
for organising the conference and they have assured me next time something like
this happens they will be first to buy their
tickets. |

I was at
Newcastle
City
Hall
as part of the 6th form day on 15th November
2007 and I would just like to say how touching and special your presentation
was, not just to me but to many of my friends too. I am not a religious person,
but It truly made me think. I have seen the film "Dead Man Walking" and while I
was very touched by it your story did not come to life for me until I watched
you speaking on Thursday. I'd like to thank you on behalf of all of the students
in my 6th Form. Keep doing what you are doing. You are a truly inspirational
woman.
